Four books I read in 2009 that taught me something about your land. I would now wish that you give me suggestions that come from a Sebian viewpoint, preferably after WWII and the establishment of the Partisan controlled government.

1) Land Without Justice, Milovan Djilas, 1958, good background on his life and Montenegro. Was there from the beginning with Tito.
2) Beacons in the Night, Franklin Lindsay, 1993, reviews the relationships with OSS and Tito's Partisans, Draza, and others during WWII / Civil War Yugo.
3) A Muslim Woman in Tito's Yugoslavia, Munevera Hadzisehovic, 2003. Neither a Muslim nor a woman, you might ask why I read this one. It gave a totally different perspective of life in former Yugoslavia. Good writer.
4) Europa Cafe, Slavenka Drakulic, 1996, good writer and social critic from Croatia. Explains how life under Tito shaped ideas and behavior, and how it affects her in her relationships with the rest of the world today. Good ability to express emotions, admits her own biases.

This is some of the stuff I've been learning about your region. I am open to suggestions about more good books on regional culture and politics. Thanks, Wayne

Videćemo Wayne, potražićemo neke dobre knjige. Ima ih, samo nisam siguran koje su, jer mi smo mahom sve to lično doživeli, ili su nam pričali bliski prijatelji, roditelji i ostali i to iz prve ruke, tako da nismo čitali knjige o tome..
A reci mi, da li bi mogao da čitaš na našem jeziku, ili ti treba isključivo na engleskom? Jer to će biti malo teže naći...

Možda bi B.Love mogao da predloži neku?

I struggle with Serbo-Croatian and miss much meaning if not translated into English.  Usually OK with music, but politics and philosophy a different story.
